Major Project Update
Hello everyone, I come bearing good news and bad news.
The bad news is that Labyrinth Carceri (Demo) was, and still kinda is, cancelled in some form. I ran into some personal struggles and this project, as important and fun as it is, does take its toll on me due to some conditions I struggle with. However, this does not mean the game is done for. The game, in its current state, definitely is. However it will return (hopefully) better than it currently is.
So, what's going on?
The good news is, after nearly giving up on the project entirely, I have decided to rebuild it from the ground up, this time with an actual outline and goal for the story in mind. (And better organization. :P). It will definitely be different from what is shown in the demo, although the core of the game will remain the same. The characters, setting, and setup will remain only minorly altered. With this new build, a lot of good changes have come as well.
The artstyle (specifically the character sprites) have been updated to better reflect their appearances. For example, check out Empress' glow up!
Empress actually looks like her character portrait! Wow! Almost every single character has received an updated sheet as well. I also edited the sprite sheet template so there is actually enough room for characters to wear hats now, such as this dapper eyeling named Morgan!
Unfortunately, all of this means Labyrinth Carceri is that much further away from a full game release; and I can't promise that the previous devlog about branching endings will remain, getting my ambitions checked is a skill I am currently working on alongside game development.
I would like to thank my friends for supporting me while working on this project and always doing their best to steer me in the right direction during development and helping me manage my work cycle and work-life balance. And thank you for reading and for being interested in my project!
